Question by Tareksgirl64: I have a question about a vintage/antique vase please?
It was my grandmother’s vase. I don’t know how old it is, but I remember it being in her house even when I was very little, and I am 45 now. The company name on the bottom is Yankoware, and it was made in Japan. I have searched the Internet for several years now, and every time I do, I just get links to places selling pottery. Not one site had a history of the company, or any information. Thanks in advance if you can help.
I was not asking for appraisal information. I was asking if anyone here knew the possible history. As I stated earlier, I have researched the internet many, many times, only to find sales. If you didn’t know, the question could have remained unanswered. So many people here find it necessary to be rude. Sad!

This is not an antiquities site, or a place to determine the value of your heirloom. This is a site for questions about sculpture. Go to the library and ask your reference librarian to help you find books about Asian pottery or Japanese made pottery. If it says “made in occupied Japan” it was made between WWII and the 50s or 60s. have you searched under “Yankoware” on net? Alternatively, take your piece to an antique appraiser who specializes in Japanese ceramicware. Also, check e-bay.
